I decided to look up this hot shot Goethe and see if there was anything cool about him.

Apparently he was a huge fan of mineralogy and the mineral goethite (iron oxide) is named after him.

He apparently had great deal to do with creating the tradition of the Christmas tree.

The famous Fantasia performance by Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer's Apprentice is based off a ballad written by Goethe.

He declared his religious beliefs to be those of the Hypsistarians; an ancient Jewish sect that came from the Black Sea.

Of his dislikes there included tobacco smoke, bugs, garlic, and the cross.

He loved puppet shows and drawing.
