Kapitel 2
I found the first article to be really funny. The entire article was just about how Germans have the incredible talent to find the worst in EVERYTHING. With that being said, I will also say that i think this goes for a lot of America too. People always say "rich white kid problems" when someone complains about something that seems like hardly a problem in comparison to problems others deal with. Perhaps Germany and America aren't that far off. Unlike the first essay, i found the second one unusually disturbing. I HATE IT when people stare at me, and when i even imagine going to a country where everyone stares at me, my entire heart is filled with fear. Honestly, that article might be enough to keep me away from Germany for life. After reading the third essay, i was struck with a sense of hope for Germany. Perhaps all the creepiness of the stare downs is worth the brutal honesty and directness. People in America always tell you what you want to hear, but every now and then it would be nice to have people just be honest, no matter what. I mean, i wouldn't want that all the time, but it would sure be interesting. And at last, the final article stole what glimpse of hope I had for Germany. I hate statistics... At least about boring stuff like where I live and my hometown. What I've learned from these articles? Germany is a whole other world.
